Lakers won't hold private workout with Karl-Anthony Towns

Although there is a chance Kentucky center Karl-Anthony Towns will be selected by the Lakers with the No. 2 pick in the upcoming NBA Draft, he won't be working out for the team beforehand.

The Kentucky big man isn’t working out for anyone privately except the Timberwolves, and the Lakers have given up expecting him to, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.

The Lakers are expected to add a star big man at the top of the draft, which means either Towns or Duke center Jahlil Okafor, who the Lakers have worked out privately twice, will end up in Hollywood.

The Lakers also own the 27th and 34th overall picks and have worked out a number of prospects that might still be available, including Kentucky point guard Andrew Harrison, Louisville point guard Terry Rozier, St

. John’s guard/forward Sir’Dominic Pointer, Florida shooting guard Michael Frazier, Wyoming power forward Larry Nance Jr. and Georgia senior forward Marcus Thornton.
