Lakers’ Nick Young has a fractured knee cap

Lakers guard Nick Young has missed his team’s past 11 games. An MRI exam Wednesday confirmed he'll be out even longer.

The Lakers announced Young has a small fracture in his left kneecap and will continue to be evaluated on a weekly basis. The injury is expected to heal with rest, but no timetable for Young’s return was announced.

Young last played Feb. 22 against the Celtics and has missed 24 games due to injury this season. Injuries have been a major issue for the 17-49 Lakers, who have already had Kobe Bryant, Steve Nash, Ronnie Price and Julius Randle suffer season-ending injuries.

The 29-year-old guard is averaging 13.4 points in 42 games.

Young was at the Lakers' prac

tice facility Wednesday to take part in an autograph session — and to show off his bizarre new hairstyle:

Personally, I'm a big fan of the new @swaggyp1 hair. Byron Scott? Not so much. He said Nick "must have lost a bet" and "has a bunch of worms on top of his head." Swaggy's response: "He's player hating because he hasn't grown hair since Showtime."
